Terminal Merchants

Any merchant processing payments through a credit/debit card terminal must establish their merchant ID (MID) through Student Financial Services and process through the UC approved processor. Any exceptions must be approved by Student Financial Services.

  • You must provide a cost/benefit analysis before you can accept credit cards
  • Hardware Requirements: Order and return through SFS for tracking and correct processing
  • Annual Expectations: Credit Card PCI training is now mandated for ALL individuals who work with credit cards – running transactions, settling, reconciling, storage.
  • Costs: Pass through costs for bank charges and interchange charges
  • PCI Compliance must be certified by each merchant before May 31.
